Do you believe in dragons? Well, I do!
I used to liken myself to a volcano. It would take quite a bit to get me to explode, but when I did... The lava spewed far and wide and nobody was safe for miles!
Then I discovered something about myself. It wasn't lava - it was the fire of a red dragon! I was born in the Year of the Dragon, according to the Chinese zodiac. Not only that, I am the daughter of a dragon and gave birth to a third generation dragon. I have developed a number of personality traits more like my dragon father as I have aged. My son still has the over activity of a young dragon. Yes, there is something to this!
When I decided it was time to write again and I decided to blog for a change, I decided to rely on the wisdom of being a red dragon. Some of my ramblings will make no sense, as I believe in doing "stream-of-consciousness" writing. Sometimes I start with a topic and end with something that seems randomly distant from the beginning, but I've tied them all together in the middle - somehow!
I will try to rely on the creativity of a dragon, the love of beauty of a dragon, and the wisdom of a dragon as I write to create something that most, if not all, of my readers will enjoy. Some posts will be serious and address topics that I am passionate about, some will be lighter as I prefer to laugh instead of cry. Never do I intend to put down anyone or offend with my writing. This is just a chance for me to put stuff out there, to practice my writing daily, to get and to give feedback.
I believe in collecting facts from a multitude of sources - perhaps from my training in journalism - and making informed decisions. If I don't know or don't agree with something, I'm not afraid to express my opinions or admit I haven't decided or just don't know. I am not adverse to changing my mind, however, it may take quite a bit of evidence to completely convince me. I try to look at different perspectives and I make an honest attempt to appreciate the ideas and interests of others.
More than anything, I hope you will find this entertaining! After all, life can drag just about anyone down at times and any source of good entertainment is to be appreciated!
Enjoy! And keep smiling!
